EWGS January 2016 Luncheon, What You Missed

Today started out cold again but with the bright sun out we headed to the Pearl China Buffet for the EWGS Board meeting. Lunch was a buffet, and even though I am not a real explorer of food it was a good lunch and the price was very good also. The room we were in at the back was pretty private, so a good place to hold the annual meeting where we honor the past presidents. Three were there, Jeanne Coe, Bill Hire and Donna Phillips.

The regular meeting started with a prize give away from the Digital Digest contest to find a Kindle Fire. and it went to Sonji Ruttan.  

The meeting continued and then the passing of the gavel from Donna Phillips to our new EWGS President Pat Bayonne-Johnson.

 Congratulations Pat.

What You Missed January 2014 Annual Luncheon

This nice and sunny morning started out cold, but soon arrived at the Timber Creek Buffet where EWGS was holding the 2014 luncheon to introduce the new officers and honor past presidents and the DSMs (Distinguished Service Members). At 10 am was the start of the board meeting and so we discussed our upcoming meetings. February is a book sale, March is the visit to the Digital Archives, April is going to be Leslie Lawson from Portland, Oregon. Also talked a little about Steve Morrison the October workshop speaker.

Fort Colville Road.

The food was good and the conversations between the

members is even better.

What You Missed January 7, 2012 Luncheon

The January 7, 2012 luncheon started with the buffet line, good food.

After lunch the EWGS officers for the 2012 year were lined up so everyone can see them.

Announcements for the February, March and April meetings. The past presidents and distinguished service members were asked to stand, and then the speakers Doug Seibol and Mary Ellen Locke showed pictures of their trip to western Siberia to meet Doug's Seibol relatives that were still living in that area today. They had actually tracked him down as a Seibol uncle had migrated to Odessa, Washington in the early 1900s. Very interesting pictures.

Reminder: Dues and January Luncheon

Just a reminder:

Have you paid your dues for 2009? They are $25, payable to EWGS, and you can mail them to P.O. Box 1826, Spokane, WA 99210-1826. Don't forget to submit any address, phone number, or e-mail address changes with your dues, so that the corrections can be made in time for the 2009 directory.

The January Luncheon is coming up soon. We will be meeting at noon at the Spokane Club (1002 W. Riverside Avenue) to hear Ian Chambers, Professor of History, University of Idaho speak on "Pirates of the Caribbean: Why Pirates Matter to History." For lunch, you have a choice of petite prime rib of beef, cedar planked king salmon, or pasta primavera (vegetarian).

Cost is $26 for members; $28 for non-members. You must submit your reservation, check (payable to EWGS) and choice of meal to EWGS at the P.O. Box number above by December 30th, which with mail delivery time means you should mail this as soon as possible! For more information, see the green insert in the December issue of the Bulletin.
