Tour to Scotland??

I received a letter from Christine Woodcock, tour facilitator for Genealogy Tours of Scotland, who lives in Canada. Her letter directs us to their website (www.genealogytoursofscotland.ca). Her letter explains requests I let EWGS know about her tours and when an EWGS member signs up for one of her tours, she'll give EWGS a $100 donation. Such a deal. So if you're considering a research trip to Scotland, you might want to consider Genealogy Tours of Scotland.  You can email her directly at genealogytoursofscotland@gmail.com

Irish Seminar a Success!

EWGS members and friends had a wonderful learning day on Saturday, March 10th, at our Irish Seminar. Fintan Mullin (above) and Dr. Brian Trainor came all the way from Ireland and the Ulster Heritage Foundation to spend the day with us. And there were about 120 of us! Each presenter gave two thorough talks and a Q&A session was the finale.

Our hospitality angels, Mary, Mary and Georgia, did a fantastic job with the cookies and drinks! Thank you!!

Sales of the Ulster Heritage Foundation's books was brisk. They had shipped 9 cartons of books to Donna and taped up to take away only two.

Richard Harshberger was there representing the Spokane West Family Search Center telling one and all about their upcoming FREE all day seminar on Saturday, April 28th. For information, click to www.RememberingGenerations.ISOD.com

It was a great day for both the green and the orange and too bad if you missed it.  Donna

March 10: EWGS Super Seminar

It is NOT too late to attend the EWGS Spring Seminar on Saturday, March 10th, at the downtown Spokane Public Library!!  It's our super seminar on all-things-Irish research presented by Fintan Mullin and Dr. Brian Trainor who are coming from Ireland to be with us on that day.  (And they've shipped 9 boxes of their books for us to purchase.) Bring your $25 and your own sack lunch and be to the library by 8:30 ...... there will be a syllabus/handout but bring something to take notes too. (P.S. If you park down/west on Main Street, there are 25-cents-per-hour meters and a much cheaper lot than under the library.)

Here's another little bit of Irish humor:  "A toast to your coffin. May it be made of 100 year old oak. And may we plant the tree together, tomorrow."  (Old Irish saying.)

See you Saturday!
